The rum advent calendar is down to it’s last day. What’s the last one in the box? Since I’m a good kid I’m not going to spoil the surprise and peek.

Hands down the best one I’ve not tried before was Rumbullion. While it’s great to find something new, it’s nearly impossible to get. You can special order it from the UK, and the shipping doubles the already expensive price.

The best one I have had before was 25 year old Flor de Caña which was an unexpected treat. That, also, is not exactly cheap to come by.

Happy holidays, you greasy automotive enthusiasts :)

Where did this advent calendar come from and how to I get one for next year?

I got is as a gift from a fellow oppo reader who sucked up not only buying it but shipping it from the UK. They do rum, whisky, scotch, gin, tequilla, etc. Master of Malt is the company that puts it all together. It’s really, really cool.

I can only imagine what the Flor de Caña 25 is like. It showed up on our shelves a couple of months ago with a price tag I just couldn’t swallow. This, even after buying a bottle of 18 a few years ago and being absolutely blown away.

I’ve read the 25 is very much like the 18, but missing the ever-present and dominating oak flavor. Have you had the 18?

I’ve had 18 but so long ago I don’t remember it well. However the suggestion to go for the 7 year is spot on. Delicious and very reasonably priced for a very similar rum.

The 4 year even.... Although they have a white 4 year that I tried and remember not liking it and thinking it tasted like gin.
